Ma thématique de recherche est centrée sur l’étude du fonctionnement des écosystèmes marins côtiers tropicaux et méditerranéens exploités. Généraliste dans mon approche d’écologie trophique, mon parcours allie travaux de terrain, de laboratoire et l’utilisation de modèles trophiques et statistiques. Le principal objectif de mes activités de recherche à l’IRD est de contribuer à la gestion des ressources marines dans le contexte de l’approche écosystémique afin de concilier conservation et exploitation durable. Mes travaux, dont une partie se veut résolument pluridisciplinaires, ont été majoritairement menés en partenariat avec le Sénégal, la Tunisie et plus récemment le Brésil et le Gabon.

J’ai été responsable de différents programmes scientifiques dédiés à l’étude du fonctionnement d’un écosystème archétypal de Méditerranée, le Golfe de Gabès. Je coordonne actuellement plusieurs projets nationaux et internationaux pluridisciplinaires (écosystèmes à mangroves au Gabon, impact des éoliennes offshore), j’ai également été en charge de plusieurs groupes de travail dans des projets nationaux et internationaux.
