Marine natural products :Generally speaking, I am interested in marine natural substances and the organisms from which they originate for a better understanding of living things, but also with the aim of valorising them whether in human health, aquaculture or other sectors, in response to local problems and/or those of the countries of the South, Sponges of Polynesiaand also to contribute to the emergence of new fields of economic development.

The various research projects that I undertake within my team are part of a global project that I have been working on for several years with my colleague Cécile Debitus, on the theme of “Biodiversity and marine substances in the South Pacific”. On the one hand, the aim is to improve our knowledge of the fauna and flora of the coral reefs of the South Pacific, and on the other hand, to search for new natural active ingredients against different pathologies (human or aquaculture), or to develop them economically.

Cantharella: a tool dedicated to the study of natural products: With Adrien Cheype (engineer from the scientific computing pole, IRD Noumea), we have developed the Cantharella information system (IS). This collaborative work tool, accessible via the Internet in a secure manner, is dedicated to work on natural products whatever their origin. It allows us to capitalize, perpetuate Cantharellaand share data in a controlled manner between project collaborators, but also to make a restitution of scientific informations to the territories and countries from which the organisms  studied within the framework of the ABS (Access and Benefit Sharing) approach originate. The software is distributed free of charge under a free license (HAL-01887126).
