Variations saisonnières des concentrations en métaux (Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn et Zn) chez l’algue Fucus spiralis du littoral de la ville d'El Jadida (Maroc)

Brown seaweeds from El Jadida were analyzed for levels of trace metals (Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn and Zn). Concentrations of these metals were determined in the seaweeds collected every month (April 1998 to March 1999) from four stations, with three of these characterized as being sites for the discharge of urban and industrial wastewater. During the study period, differences were observed in the levels of metals depending on the stations and seasons considered. In comparison to published data, the seaweeds of El Jadida exhibited generally lower concentrations than those of similar species from other geographical areas.
