Task 4

INTEGRATED ANALYSES OF DIPLOID AND TRIPLOID OYSTER RESPONSES UPON NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL EXPOSURES TO ALEXANDRIUM SP. Task leader: H. Hégaret (LEMAR), D. Tran (EPOC). Involved partners: LEMAR, IFREMER-PHYC, IFREMER-LERLR, EPOC

Based on the results gathered from tasks 2 (genetic), 3 (molecular physiology), and our previous studies, this task will aim to i) perform an integrated analysis of the response of diploid and triploid oysters C. gigas upon experimental and field exposures to toxic Alexandrium, and ii) establish the determinism of toxin accumulation.

Physiological parameters will be selected according to the results of Haberkorn et al., (2010 a*, b*) and Hégaret et al. (2009b*) as well as results from previous task experiments. They will be measured individually on all 2n and 3n oysters exposed experimentally or naturally to toxic Alexandrium sp.   Figure: Biological parameters measured on oysters after exposure to Alexandrium
