Task 2
EVALUATION OF POLYMORPHISM AT VOLTAGE-GATED SODIUM CHANNEL LOCUS AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH PST ACCUMULATION IN OYSTERS
Task leader: C. Fabioux (LEMAR), Involved partners: LEMAR, IFREMER-PHYC
The objective of this task will be the first step towards a better understanding of the determinism of PST accumulation in oysters, assessing the first hypothesis that the toxin load depends on the genetic background of oysters, i.e. the affinity of the voltage-gated sodium (Nav) channel for the toxin depending on its nucleotide and amino acid sequences.
