The work of this secondment consisted in interacting with the colleagues from the University Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) and the University Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) to develop an integrated approach to obtain key ecosystem information for Marine Spatial Planning.

This work consisted among other in (1) performing a bibliography synthesis and data mining on current knowledge and data in the Tropical western Atlantic and (2) Integrating available data from satellite (Bathymetry, SST, Primary production, Landsat imagery), existing geographic databases (shoreline, coastal human activities), current and previous scientific projects (Statistical data on small scale fisheries along the Pernambuco Coast).
