Those secondments allowed contributing to the organization and attending several international and interdisciplinary events that took place in Recife:

(1) The bis-annual scientific meetings of the international community

involved in the Abraços surveys (IRD-UFPE-UFRPE). Those at-sea surveys were designed to fill critical gaps of data in the Northeastern continental shelf, and provide information from the physics dynamics to the the abundance and distribution plankton/fish/seabird communities. Those information will be crucial to the feeding of any DST that may support the decision process of a MSP for the Northeastern Brazil.

(2) The bis-annual scientific meeting of the Mixed International Laboratory TAPIOCA (IRD-UFPE-UFRPE) where scientists from oceanography, biology, ecology, fisheries ecology and Brazilian governance institutions exchange data, technologies, methodologies and information for strengthening the multidisciplinary knowledge available for the marine spaces of the Northeastern Brazil.
