The ecosystem response to global change is directly dependent on the response of the population and therefore on the response of the organisms that constitute them. In this context, I use a multi-scale approach connecting different levels of biological integration to understand the response of highly productive coastal ecosystems to global change. I focus on the response of the valuable fish compartment to two factors varying with global change: the reduced availability of essential fatty acids (HUFA n-3 or omega 3) in the food web, combined with the temperature rise.
My research activities aim to:

  • Study the individual fish responses to the variability of these factors, at different levels of integration (molecular, cellular, tissular and whole individual response);
  • Using collaborations, assess the impacts of these physiological responses on the population maintenance and ecosystem functioning.
