The general objective of FLAMENCO is to increase current knowledge regarding the ecology, the physiology and socio-economics in order to improve the management of halibut stocks (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) in Atlantic Canada and around the islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. This resource Is crucial for the economy of the fishing communities of coastal Quebec as well as for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. This project is supported by the programme d’Odyssée Saint-Laurent which aims at increasing strategic knowledge of the Saint-Lawrence waterway.
