Following the first PADDLE interactions with collegues from IRD, Alex Costa da Silva travelled to France to foster interactions. During his secondment he participated to the PADDLE workshop held in Brest from 9-11 October 2017 – IUEM. This forum was an occasion for scientific discussions with many member of the Project on work package 2. An important aspect identified was the connectivity among sub-systems in Northeast Brazil. To advance in this field (Task 2.2.) he processed ADCP data (currents) from the Acoustics along the Brazilian coast (ABRACOS) surveys. At this occasion he initiated the preparation of a research paper (“Meso-scale currents in the tropical Atlantic around the islands and the continental slope of the north eastern Brazil”. In addition he presented a seminar about the research activities carried out in Brazil in cooperation with the French team. Title of the presentation: “Acoustics along the Brazilian coast (ABRACOS)”.
