Integrate scientific knowledge on space uses at-sea: the Fernando de Noronha archipelago pilot study case - Part 5

IRD - UFRPE - UFAL
01 Septembre 2018 - 30 Septembre 2018

part of Interdisciplinary Analysis

This secondment allowed the realization of the third fieldwork at Fernando de Noronha. We continued the long term work on the statistical modeling of these data, aiming at segmenting the raw GPS tracks collected on fishing vessels and seabirds into different behavioural modes (travelling, searching, fishing) and then produce accurate data on space-use at -sea. We trained and supervised master students on seabird space use (UFAL, Leila Figueiredo; IRD, Amédée Roy) and on the artisanal fishery space-use (UFRPE, Tatiana Beltrao; UFAL Samantha Pereira).
