Ph.D. candidate working on the COMPLESC project: The Role of Habitat Complexity Provided by Foundation Species in Community Diversity and Ecosystem Functioning: a case study using regional scale monitoring data. I study the role of the structural complexity on the diversity of two ecologically important biogenic habitats in Brittany – maerl beds and Zostera meadows. I’m interested in the effects of complexity on both the taxonomic and functional diversity of macrofauna, as well as the taxonomic diversity of meiofauna and of macrophytes. I study to which extent the variability in habitat complexity at a regional scale affects the spatio-temporal patterns of communities. I also evaluate how the environmental conditions influence both habitat complexity and biodiversity.
