Juillet 2012 MOSJ cruise
The ECOTAB team has been invited to join the MOSJ cruise, onboard the norwegian R/V Lance, organized by the norwegian polar institute. The plan was to go to Kongsfjorden, Rijpfjorden and to the ice edge. This is a great opportunity to compare our "regular "study area, Kongsfjorden, which is highly influenced by the warm Atlantic water, with Rijpfjorden, a strictly Arctic fjord.

| Welcome to the ice edge! After an inspection of the ice flow, it is time to anchor us there, by drilling a big hole on the ice, and deploying the "anchor" there! |     |

81°25’ N and 15°11’ E, while we thought to be alone, we meet 2 researchers from Bergen travelling on a air cushion boat.

| Very successful dives! A lot of bivalves were collected! |   |

| And at the ice edge, the divers managed to collect a lot of ice algae which were still attached to the under of the ice. |  |

Sediment traps deployment in Rijpfjorden. Although most of people were skeptical, yes we found back our traps and collected great data! |
