Under the framework of the work package 2, more precisely task 2.1, the work developed consisted in surveying for colonies of summer breeding and non-seasonal breeding seabird species on the islands of São Vicente, Santa Antão and São Nicolau. Such survey covered the main coastal areas, selected on the basis of previous publications or reports by local people and/or ornithologists, as well as interviews with local people. The main features of the habitats where colonies occur, an estimate of population size and an evaluation of threats were also recorded.
