During this secondment, I met our PADDLE partners in Recife to discus potential future steps within WP2. Along with Gui and Recife partners, I then went to Tamandaré, where we are doing some field studies on connectivity of coastal ecosystems, as this relates to MSP.

The idea is to investigate ecological connectivity between terrestrial and mangrove ecosystems through salt flats (apicuns).
After returning back to Recife, I flew into Salvador. Close to there (Jaguaripe), we are conducting comparative studies to what we do in Tamandaré. The last couple days in Salvador, I acted as a EU delegate in a conference on trilateral EU-African-Brazilian collaboration where I presented PADDLE.
