Chefs de mission / chiefs scientist

During the one-month mission in Brazil starting in February 1st, 2019, I have participated in the workshop MSP in tropical Atlantic: governance dynamics from February 4-7th, 2018 in Recife Brazil, UFPE.

Also, I have been working with colleagues from different scientific areas, and in University of Pernambuco, I did contact with other colleagues, besides those within PADDLE project team. We also carried out a mission in Fernando Noronha island in order to locate, understand the organization and collect information for the development of an essential database for work package 2 and work package 4 main goals.

I collected information on environmental issues and human pressures (harbours and marine traffic; dredging areas; fisheries; marine litter; wastewater treatment; desalinization and tourism) during stakeholder’s interviews.

Some of the work was made in Fernando Noronha, allowing comparison between Atlantic insular regions. This is particularly relevant to insular issues in the Atlantic.
