It brings together institutional leaders, indigenous representatives, academics, scientists and students from around the Circumpolar North and beyond. It is an excellent platform for all UArctic members to engage with each other and promote cooperation in circumpolar science and higher education. Together with partners, policy makers and other actors, the UArctic Congress strives to take the Arctic agenda forward by creating and strengthening collaborations that produce new findings and solutions for the future of the Arctic. The UArctic Congress 2022 is linked to the Arctic Council's Russian Chairmanship program, and its themes follow its priorities.
The UArctic Congress 2022 is part of Russian’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council (2021-2023) with the cross-cutting priority "Responsible Governance for Sustainable Arctic" promoting collective approaches to the sustainable development of the Arctic, environmentally, socially and economically balanced, enhancing synergy and cooperation and coordination with other regional structures, as well as implementation of the Council's Strategic Plan, while respecting the rule of law.
UArctic members, activities and partners may request space for Side Meetings during the Congress. Requests should be submitted by February 15, 2022.

- Environmental protection
- Socio-economic development in the region
- Strengthening international Arctic cooperation
