Biography

Deborah Shinoda – University of Azores, Portugal, holds a Master Degree in Maritime Spatial Planning from the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme of the University IUAV of Venice, University of Sevilla and University of Azores. She was involved in research projects in Europe and in Brazil, such as the research project BIOTA-Araçá (Brazil), the project PLASMAR (Setting the basis for sustainable maritime spatial planning in Macaronesia) and the project MarSP (Macaronesian Maritime Spatial Planning). Her main scientific interests are maritime spatial planning, integrated costal zone management, marine protected areas, environmental planning and management and ocean governance.
