Hello Jordan,
I haven't got any news from you regarding the astrolabe expeditions logger that I sent to you last month. Have you received it?
At IUEM Brest we keep testing our probes to investigate the troubles in the conductivity measure.
Please find below and attached the description and results from a recent test carried out by my colleagues, E. Augereau and P. Rimmelin-Maury.
Perhaps something obvious will come up to you and help us.
Experience details:
We have immersed 4 of our loggers (colors on the graphics: grey, yellow, blue, red) fitted with K1.0 conductivity probe calibrated (one point cal) in a seawater bath agitated by a magnet.
The salinity of the bath was stable (around 35.03 g/L) and simultaneously measured by an accurate probe (black curve on the graphics).
The results on the graphics show that the resulting salinity from our probes (grey, yellow, blue, red) is strongly influenced by the temperature. However the salinity should remain stable as per the reference probe (black curve) because there is very little evaporation and no "pollution" of the bath.
Perhaps we do something wrong when configuring the atlas conductivity board, we miss a parameter? I wait for you answer and I am sure that we will find out together.
Yours sincerely,
Etienne Poirier
