Dear colleague;

You are contacted because we know that you been carrying out polar research based on marine field work in the Arctic.

In the CAPARDUS project, we address how standards and regulations are established and implemented to ensure the safe and sustainable development of the Arctic. Part of this work is to investigate if measures are taken to reduce the footprint of marine fieldwork in the Arctic. The present survey is intended to map if Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) are carried out in connection with fieldwork.The coordinator of CAPARDUS is Stein Sandven at Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center.

We therefore invite you to respond to the questions which will take about 3-5 min. Please follow the link: https://forms.gle/X82dz6n48aPw3yHz5

The survey is following the ethical guidelines for questionnaire surveys from the Norwegian National Research Ethics Committees (https://www.forskningsetikk.no/en/resources/the-research-ethics-library/methods/questionnaire-surveys/) and according to the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR (https://gdpr.eu/privacy-notice
).

This means individual responses will not be published, only statistics and summaries. By filling in the survey, you consent to use the responses in such aggregated manners. Data will be stored according to GDPR and will be removed after the end of the CAPARDUS project. The responders can at any time contact us to get access to their own replies and eventually ask us to remove their responses from the survey.

We would be very grateful if you could take the 3-5 minutes to fill out the questionnaire within 26 May 2023.

Please do not hesitate to ask if something is unclear.

Best regards from

Espen Storheim and Hanne Sagen
