The study area of ZABrI extends from the Bay of Brest to the Iroise Sea, and from the catchment areas of the Rivers Elorn and Aulne to the islands (Sein, Ouessant and the Mullein Archipelago). It has a surface of 6,690 square kilometers, of which 3,730 km² are at sea.
