RME Master's degree

MASTER’S DEGREE SPECIALISING IN MARINE RENEWABLE ENERGY (MRE) WITH ENSTA

This course, approved by the Conference de grandes écoles (a committee of higher education colleges), involves the participation of ENSTA Bretagne, l'Ecole Navale, Télécom Bretagne, IUEM/UBO, ENIB, ISEN, Ifremer, Cetmef, SHOM, Météo France and DCNS.

The principle objective is to train project leaders and programme directors who can conceive and develop the marine renewable energy industry.

The need to diversify sources of energy supply, particularly renewable ones, has become very clear. Marine energies have real potential as a complement to solar energy, wind farms, biomass and other sources, especially in Brittany.

Programme in 2 semesters

Semester 1: 501 hours of applied training at the different partner institutions in Brest
Semester 2: End of course project in an enterprise, followed by a Viva voce.

THE TRAINING PROGRAMME COVERS 4 MAIN QUESTIONS

  • What types of energy can we harness?
  • What systems can be used to capture this energy?
  • What interactions take place with the marine and coastal environment?
  • What is the social, economic and judicial context?
