Science for everyone
Lemar researchers are working to bring knowledge about marine sciences to a wider audience, providing keys for understanding marine ecosystems by communicating methods and results of ongoing research. Information about the multidisciplinary research activities of Lemar is disseminated to audiences other than students through published documents, lecture series and Lemar’s participation in exhibitions and scientific cultural events. Long-distance missions provide opportunities to create links and work with students and their teachers over longer periods. These connections between laboratories and schools use means designed by the CNRS for communicating with young people by setting up "passions recherche" groups. These receive regular support from the Océanopolis centre for marine scientific and technical culture. Lemar is the scientific partner in two CNRS clubs run by the "petits débrouillards" in Finistère high schools.
